((Is anyone out there still alive??! ))
At first I didn't know if I was going to get baptized or not and kept asking people if I should do it. Of course, they said it was up to me and if I was ready. That's why I didn't pack any shorts or anything to be baptized in and ended up borrowing this one dude's shorts. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I thought about it all day and asked God what I should do. Finally on Thursday at night service I signed up for it and went to the class that night. There were so many things that went wrong on Friday for us. We wanted Chinese food so we ordered it around 1:30 and waited for the food instead of going to get baptized, which started at 2. There was this nagging voice inside of me saying, "Maybe I should go instead of waiting for the food. Should I go now?" I don't know if it was just my own nagging voice or if it was God telling me something. We sat in the lounge of our dorm waiting and waiting for the food. Time passes by and it's 2:30. The food comes but we find out that it's not our food, but another group's food. So we call the place up and see what's up but all they say is that the guy forgot to bring our order and it's so busy because of Hlub. It's 2:45 and we finally go to get baptized but when we enter the building N. Wang Chue says that they're finished and all done already and everyone was leaving. We rush to the girls' locker room and into the pool area. She was right. The place was empty except for Xf. Wang Xue who was walking out too because the two women who worked there were telling everyone that the pool was closed and that they needed to clean up. We went back into the locker room and were just really upset. A certain somebody, who shall remain unnamed, started crying because she was hungry as heck and disappointed in herself for getting upset. We just couldn't understand how they said that baptizing was from 2-5 yet they closed the pool at 3. We were talking in the locker room and some girls who got baptized talked to us about how there was probably some evil at work because something happened to their girls in their dorm. I'm not going to say what, but it was scary. I do believe that something out there tried to prevent us from getting baptized. So N. Wang Chue comes into the locker room and sees what is going on. She then goes and tries to get a Xf to baptize us quickly cos there were only 4 of us and we only needed one pastor. It turns out that Xf Chue Tou Vue was still there and I think he's the one who's in charge of the baptism. He comes and Voila! He asked the ladies to open the pool again so that we could get baptized. A third lady shows up and she tells the other two that we INDEED did reserve the pool until 5 but they didn't know so they kicked us out. But the thing is, that same lady was in the pool room when the other two were telling us that the pool was closed. I don't get it. It surely seems like the work of something evilll.... Anyway, I prayed a little prayer to God right before I went into the water and cried when Xf asked me the questions. When I got out of the water, some other girls walked in and said that they wanted to get baptized too. So it wasn't just us that were late. When we got out into the lobby, there was a whole group of people who didn't get baptized yet because they played sports and couldn't make it earlier. I think it may have been God's plan to send us first to deal with the headache to kind of 'open the door' for the others. After our baptism the four of us (me, Seesa, Soua, and Pang Houa) went back to our dorm to see that the others were sitting outside still waiting for our food. The time is now around 3:30 and we've been waiting for our food for 2 hours. We call back and ask what's up and the lady says that it's coming right now. It finally arrives and was $68 but we payed $60. We only get $8 off when we waited for 2 hours??! Whatever we were hungry so it didn't matter. We go into the lounge and find out that several things were missing and some orders were wrong. What's up with that?! So the $8 we didn't pay were for nothing because things were missing anyway! Ugghh whatever so we just ate and that was that.
CONGRATULATIONS if you have made it this far! Thanks for reading the highlight of my HLUB2006 experience. That's pretty EXTREME for one day...
